About TTM

The Talking Mirror is managed and primarily written by two strapping gents: Kent Woodyard and Conor McCarthy, although we occasionally feature material written by guest writers. Kent is from Oklahoma and Conor is from Texas.  As a result, we spend most of our time hating each other and bickering about the respective virtues of our home states. We set aside our differences long enough to accidentally become friends one day, but that has done nothing to stop the near constant stream of mockery and deeply-personal insults. Both of us graduated from Wheaton College in May 2008.  Kent has since escaped to Southern California while Conor, for some unfathomable reason, has elected to remain in the Chicagoland area. While at Wheaton, we enjoyed writing satire and mindless nonsense for a half-assed satirical newspaper (which we helped found). We started The Talking Mirror because we decided we shouldn’t let graduation take away the one thing in this world that we love.

Our focus is on satire and cultural criticism, particularly from a conservative standpoint. We’re both Christians thus we frequently cover issues related to Christianity and Christian culture, but that isn’t our entire focus. In our travels around the internet we’ve noticed a surplus of humorous humor but a serious lack of quality humor from a conservative standpoint. The Talking Mirror exists to fill this void.

Have fun. And post comments, we like those.

- Conor and Kent

Honorable Mention:

Gretchen Hoffman – Editor, (Specifically of Conor’s writing)

Writers (Occasionally):

Ryan K. Hodgen – Gentleman and Scholar

Zachary B. Chastain – Prince of Puns

Tory J.R. Schalkle – Corporate Sponsor

We used to have more writers that we’d put here, but then they all got busy abandoning their friends, hopes, and dreams.
